Vehicles today are being made with increasingly more plastic. This increase in plastic usage has resulted as manufacturers attempt to mass-produce vehicles as cheaply as possible, thus increasing profit. One of the most common car parts to be made out of plastic may be the black plastic trim found on the bumpers, doors, and beds of many modern vehicles. Perhaps the greatest problem with this black plastic trim is its susceptibility to fading. The fading of a vehicle’s black plastic trim can be caused by various conditions, most of which the average vehicle is exposed to on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the fading of trim can make even a clean car appear old and dirty.
